Endomucin Antibody (V.1A7) is a rat monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Endomucin in mouse samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). Endomucin, also referred to as EMCN or Mucin-14, is a 261 amino acid glycoprotein characterized by extensive O-linked glycosylation, which contributes to a unique extended structure. Anti-Endomucin antibody (V.1A7) recognizes a protein predominantly expressed in vascular tissues, including heart, kidney, and lung, existing in two forms: an unprocessed precursor peptide and a processed variant known as Endomucin 2, which consists of 241 amino acids. Endomucin is localized to venous endothelium and capillaries in mice, but is absent from arterial endothelium, highlighting a specific role in vascular biology. Endomucin expression increases during endothelial cell proliferation and in response to angiogenic stimuli such as basic fibroblast growth factor and tumor necrosis factor-alpha. Endomucin has been implicated in regulating hematopoietic cell adhesion and aggregation, suggesting a potential role in facilitating cell detachment from endothelium during early hematopoiesis. With critical involvement in vascular dynamics and hematopoiesis, Endomucin monoclonal antibody (V.1A7) serves as a valuable tool for researchers investigating endothelial biology and related processes.
