    SEE ALSO...

EMID2 Antibody (B-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects EMID2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-EMID2 antibody (B-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. EMID2, also known as EMI domain-containing protein 2 or COL26A1, is a 441 amino acid secreted protein that plays a crucial role in extracellular matrix organization and tissue development. EMID2 is characterized by a unique structure that includes an N-terminal signal peptide, an EMI domain, two collagen stretches, and a novel C-terminal domain. The EMI domain contains seven conserved cysteines that may facilitate dimerization, which is essential for functional stability and interaction with other extracellular matrix components. EMID2 undergoes post-translational modifications, including hydroxylation on proline residues, which can influence stability and interactions. EMID2 is conserved across several species, including chimpanzees, dogs, cows, mice, and chickens, and is located on human chromosome 7q22.1, which is associated with various genetic disorders. Understanding EMID2′s function and structure is vital for elucidating its role in developmental processes and potential implications in diseases related to extracellular matrix dysregulation.
