Eme1 Antibody (MTA31 7h2/1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the Eme1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-Eme1 antibody (MTA31 7h2/1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Essential meiotic endonuclease 1 (Eme1), a member of the Eme1/Mms4 family, plays a critical role in DNA repair and recombination processes, particularly during meiosis and mitosis. Eme1 forms a heterodimeric complex with MUS81, which is essential for cleaving branched DNA structures that can arise during DNA replication stress, such as stalled replication forks and 3′ DNA flaps. This activity is crucial for maintaining genomic stability, as the MUS81-Eme1 complex resolves these structures, preventing potential genomic instability that could lead to cell cycle arrest or apoptosis. Eme1 is predominantly localized in the nucleolus and is recruited to sites of DNA damage during the S phase of the cell cycle, highlighting Eme1′s importance in the cellular response to DNA damage. The ability of Eme1 to interact with other proteins involved in DNA repair further underscores Eme1′s significance in maintaining the integrity of the genome.
