Embigin Antibody (43G7) is a rat monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects Embigin protein of mouse origin by immunofluorescence (IF) and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-Embigin antibody (43G7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Embigin, also known as teratocarcinoma glycoprotein Gp-70, is a 327 amino acid single-pass type I membrane protein that belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily of cell adhesion molecules. Embigin facilitates cell growth and development by regulating interactions between cells and the extracellular matrix, which is crucial for maintaining tissue homeostasis in normal adult tissues. Embigin is expressed in various adult tissues, including the brain, heart, liver, and lung, and plays a significant role during the regression of prostate and mammary glands. Embigin is involved in the modulation of neuromuscular junction formation and plasticity, highlighting its importance in both developmental and regenerative processes. The gene encoding Embigin is located on human chromosome 5q11.1, with a pseudogene identified on chromosome 1, further emphasizing the complexity of its genetic regulation and potential implications in various biological contexts.
