ELYS Antibody (2318C2a) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects the ELYS protein of human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-ELYS antibody (2318C2a) is available as a non-conjugated format. ELYS, also known as AT-hook-containing transcription factor 1, is a crucial protein located within the nuclear matrix, characterized by its single AT hook DNA-binding domain. ELYS plays a vital role in nuclear pore assembly and is essential for proper cell division, as nuclear pores serve as gated channels that regulate the transport of macromolecules between the nucleus and cytoplasm, including proteins, RNAs, and entire viral genomes. The presence of the AT hook domain suggests ELYS may also function as a transcription factor, potentially influencing gene expression in hematopoietic tissues. ELYS is critical for early embryonic development, particularly in the survival of inner cells of the blastocyst, highlighting its importance in developmental biology and cellular integrity.

Hi I have deleted the AT-hook of Elys which is in the C-terminus, could you please let me know what is the epitope against which this antibody (2318c2a) is generated for me to be sure that there will be any specific band detected for my cell line.

Asked by: Baisakhi
Thank you for your question. No epitope mapping has been performed for this antibody up to now, so its exact binding site is not known. We cannot say whether your recombinant protein would be detected by Anti-ELYS Antibody (2318C2a): sc-81265.

I am using ELYS (2318C2a): sc-81265 antibody for immunoprecipitation, how much antibody should I use?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. We recommend using 1–10 µl (i.e., 0.2–2 µg) of antibody with 1 ml of cell lysate. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunoprecipitation protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoprecipitation-western-blots

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It does not work with immunostaining. It did not mention if it could be used for immunofluorescence, so I tried but it did not work.
