SEE ALSO...

eIF5B Antibody (D-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects eIF5B protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-eIF5B antibody (D-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The eukaryotic translation initiation factor 5B (eIF5B) plays a crucial role in the initiation of protein synthesis by facilitating the binding of formylmethionine-tRNA to the ribosome, a process essential for the formation of the 80S initiation complex. eIF5B, consisting of 1,120 amino acids, is predominantly located in the cytoplasm and is vital for the regulation of translation, which is a key step in gene expression. Proper functioning of eIF5B ensures accurate and efficient protein synthesis, impacting cellular function and overall organismal health. eIF5B interacts with Annexin V, an anticoagulant protein, in a calcium and phospholipid-dependent manner, highlighting involvement in complex cellular processes. Given conservation across all three kingdoms of life, eIF5B serves as a universal initiation factor, underscoring fundamental importance in biology.
