eIF4AIII Antibody (3F1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects eIF4AIII in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). eIF4AIII plays a crucial role in the regulation of gene expression by being a key component of the exon junction complex (EJC), which is essential for mRNA processing and surveillance. The EJC assembles at exon-exon junctions following splicing, ensuring that only properly processed mRNAs are translated, thus preventing the accumulation of defective transcripts. This function is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing diseases associated with aberrant gene expression. eIF4AIII preferentially associates with spliced mRNA, distinguishing eIF4AIII from eIF4AI and eIF4AII, which are predominantly located in the cytoplasm. The nuclear localization of eIF4AIII underscores eIF4AIII′s importance in the post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression, making eIF4AIII a significant target for studies related to RNA metabolism and its implications in various biological processes and diseases.
