eIF2C Antibody (B-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects eIF2C protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). eIF2C Antibody (B-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. eIF2C proteins, part of the argonaute family, play a crucial role in RNA interference (RNAi) as essential components of the RNA-inducible silencing complex (RISC) and microRNA (miRNA)-containing ribonucleoprotein particles (miRNPs). These proteins regulate gene expression by mediating target gene silencing through small RNAs, such as small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) and miRNAs. eIF2C1 (also known as argonaute 1) and Dicer1 work together to facilitate siRNA-mediated gene silencing, while eIF2C2 (argonaute 2) localizes in cytoplasmic processing bodies (P-bodies) where mRNA cleavage occurs. eIF2C protein presence in P-bodies plays a key role in miRNA-induced translational silencing and siRNA-induced mRNA degradation, highlighting eIF2C significance in post-transcriptional regulation and various biological processes and diseases.
