    SEE ALSO...

eIF1AY Antibody (1B4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects eIF1AY protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-eIF1AY antibody (1B4) is available as a non-conjugated format. eIF1AY protein, also known as eukaryotic translation initiation factor 1A, Y-chromosomal, plays a crucial role in protein synthesis initiation, essential for cellular function and growth. eIF1AY (1B4) antibody targets a protein involved in ribosomal subunit assembly, specifically facilitating 40S subunit binding to mRNA start codon, ensuring correct amino acid sequence synthesis. This process is vital for producing proteins that perform various cellular functions, including enzymatic activity, structural roles, and signaling pathways. eIF1AY is encoded by a gene in the non-recombining Y chromosome region in humans and on chromosome 18 in mice and rats, highlighting evolutionary significance and potential implications in sex-linked genetic studies. eIF1AY consists of 144 amino acids with a single S1-like domain, important for interaction with other translation factors. eIF1AY′s role in enhancing protein biosynthesis underscores its importance in cellular metabolism and growth, making it valuable for developmental biology and disease mechanism research.

I am using eIF1AY (1B4): sc-517065 for immunofluorescence, what dilution of this antibody should I use?

    Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. We recommend a starting dilution of 1:50. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunofluorescence protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No band detectedUnfortunately I received no bands after trying it in various lung cancer cell lines. Used 1:400 dilution in non-fat milk TBS-T but did not get any signal. Maybe the conditions I used were not appropriate but since it was a sample, I could not try other conditions
