SEE ALSO...

EF-Tu Antibody (A-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects EF-Tu in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-EF-Tu antibody (A-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. EF-Tu, also known as mitochondrial precursor p43, is a crucial elongation factor that plays a vital role in protein biosynthesis on the ribosome. EF-Tu (A-5) antibody recognizes a protein responsible for fast and accurate delivery of aminoacyl-tRNAs to the translating ribosome, ensuring correct and efficient protein synthesis. EF-Tu′s function is particularly important because this protein not only facilitates amino acid incorporation into growing polypeptide chains but also protects the aminoester bond from hydrolysis until correct codon-anticodon pairing occurs. This mechanism maintains translation fidelity, which is critical for cellular function and overall organismal health. EF-Tu′s interaction with the ribosome is tightly regulated by GTP binding and hydrolysis, highlighting EF-Tu′s role as a multidomain GTPase integral to the translation process.
