EBV LMP-2A Antibody (14B7) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects EBV LMP-2A of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). EBV LMP-2A is a 497 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of EBV-associated malignancies, as EBV LMP-2A is expressed on the surface of EBV-infected cells. EBV LMP-2A features a unique structure comprising 12 membrane-spanning domains, a short C-terminal tail, and a long N-terminal segment, which is essential for modulating cellular signaling pathways. The structural configuration of EBV LMP-2A allows interaction with protein tyrosine kinases, leading to the activation of the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K) pathway. This activation prevents apoptosis, thereby providing survival signals to infected cells and promoting tumorigenesis. EBV LMP-2A can mimic B-cell receptor complex signaling in B-cell receptor-negative cells, underscoring EBV LMP-2A′s importance in the survival of mutated cells. Anti-EBV LMP-2A antibody (14B7) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying the mechanisms of EBV-induced malignancies and EBV LMP-2A′s role in cancer biology.
