Ebi3 Antibody (G-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Ebi3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Ebi3 antibody (G-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Ebi3 protein, also known as Epstein-Barr virus-induced gene 3, plays a crucial role in immune response by forming a heterodimer with either IL-12 p35 subunit or p28 homolog, resulting in cytokine IL-27 production. IL-27 is essential for early activation of naive CD4+ T cells, promoting rapid clonal expansion, which is vital for effective immune response. Additionally, Ebi3 is implicated in immune response modulation, as Ebi3 may antagonize IL-12, thereby inhibiting Th1 immune response development. Ebi3 expression is notably high in Hodgkin and Reed-Sternberg cells, suggesting potential role in evading anti-tumor immunity. Human Ebi3 gene is located on chromosome 19p13.3 and encodes a secreted glycoprotein predominantly expressed in spleen, tonsils, and at elevated levels in full-term placenta, highlighting importance in both immune regulation and developmental processes.
