E2F-8 Antibody (9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects E2F-8 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). E2F-8 is a crucial nuclear protein composed of 867 amino acids, featuring two DNA-binding domains, and is part of a larger family of transcription factors that includes E2F-1 through E2F-7. E2F-8 plays a significant role in regulating gene expression necessary for cell cycle progression by binding to the E2 recognition site, 5′-TTTC[CG]CGC-3′, which inhibits E2F-dependent transcription. E2F-8′s importance extends beyond transcriptional regulation; E2F-8 exists as a homodimer or can form heterodimers with E2F-7, thereby influencing various cellular processes. The gene encoding E2F-8 is located on human chromosome 11, a region that is home to over 1,400 genes and accounts for nearly 4% of the human genome. Notably, chromosome 11 is associated with several genetic disorders, including Jervell and Lange-Nielsen syndrome and Jacobsen syndrome, highlighting the critical nature of the genes it harbors. Anti-E2F-8 antibody (9) is an essential tool for researchers investigating the intricate mechanisms of cell cycle regulation and the implications of E2F family proteins in human health and disease.
