E2F-3 Antibody (PG37) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects E2F-3 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). E2F-3 plays a crucial role in regulating the cell cycle, particularly in the transition from G1 phase to S phase, where DNA synthesis occurs. This regulation is vital for proper cell proliferation and differentiation, as dysregulation of E2F-3 can lead to uncontrolled cell growth and is often implicated in various cancers. E2F-3 is primarily located in the nucleus, where E2F-3 binds to specific DNA sequences to activate transcription of genes necessary for cell cycle progression. Understanding E2F-3 localization is important because nuclear presence is essential for function as a transcription factor, and any aberrations in localization can disrupt normal cell cycle regulation. E2F-3 interacts with other members of the E2F family and forms complexes with DP-1 protein, which enhances transcriptional activity. The E2F family, including E2F-1, E2F-2, and others, collectively regulates a network of genes critical for cell cycle control, making E2F-3 a key player in maintaining cellular homeostasis.
