E2F-2 Antibody (A-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects E2F-2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). E2F-2 plays a crucial role in regulating the cell cycle, particularly in the transition from G1 phase to S phase, by controlling the expression of genes necessary for DNA synthesis and cell proliferation. This regulation is vital for maintaining proper cell growth and division, as dysregulation of E2F-2 can lead to uncontrolled cell proliferation and is often implicated in various cancers. E2F-2 is primarily located in the nucleus, where E2F-2 forms complexes with other proteins, including retinoblastoma protein (Rb) and DP-1, to activate or repress target gene transcription. The interaction between E2F-2 and Rb is particularly significant, as this interaction highlights the tumor suppressor function of Rb in cell cycle control. E2F-2′s ability to form heterodimers with DP-1 enhances transcriptional activity, making E2F-2 a key player in the regulation of genes that drive cell cycle progression.
