Dynein IC2, axonemal Antibody (X-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Dynein IC2, axonemal (DNAI2) protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-DNAI2 antibody (X-7) is available as the non-conjugated form. Dyneins are essential multisubunit, high molecular weight ATPases that play a critical role in cellular transport by interacting with microtubules to convert the chemical energy of ATP into mechanical energy, facilitating movement. DNAI2 monoclonal antibody (X-7) recognizes a protein particularly important in cilia and flagella, where DNAI2 is involved in the sliding of microtubules within the axonemes, a process crucial for motility of these structures. Such motility is vital for various physiological processes, including sperm movement and mucus clearance in the respiratory tract. DNAI2 (X-7) antibody targets a component of a larger complex that includes heavy, intermediate, and light chains, which together ensure effective transport of cellular cargo towards the cell′s center. The carboxy terminus of DNAI2 is highly conserved and plays a significant role in microtubule-dependent motility, while amino terminal regions exhibit more variability, allowing for functional diversity. DNAI2 activity is regulated by several proteins, including dynactin, LIS1, and NudEL (NudE-like), which are crucial for proper functioning and coordination within the cell.
