DnaJB5 Antibody (SY7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects DnaJB5 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-DnaJB5 antibody (SY7) is available as a non-conjugated format. DnaJB5, also known as Hsc40, belongs to the DnaJ family, one of the largest chaperone families characterized by diverse cellular localization and functions. DnaJ proteins, including DnaJB5, serve a key role in heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) chaperone machinery by facilitating proper protein folding and preventing aggregation under stress conditions. DnaJB5 enhances HSP70 function by stimulating ATP hydrolysis, which maintains cellular protein homeostasis during stress and supports processes like protein degradation, exocytosis, and endocytosis. DnaJB5 shows widespread expression, with highest levels in heart tissue, followed by skeletal muscle, spleen, liver, brain, and pancreas, while maintaining minimal presence in lung and kidney. Cysteine-rich regions and zinc finger motifs in DnaJB5 form peptide binding domains that enhance chaperone function and highlight DnaJB5′s importance in cellular stress responses.
