SEE ALSO...

DNA pol ι Antibody (NN7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects DNA pol ι of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-DNA pol ι antibody (NN7) is available as a non-conjugated format. DNA pol ι, encoded by the POLI gene located on human chromosome 18q21.2, plays a critical role in DNA replication and repair processes, particularly with damaged DNA. DNA pol ι (NN7) monoclonal antibody recognizes a protein known for bypassing DNA lesions that would otherwise stall replication, a function crucial for maintaining genomic stability. DNA pol ι demonstrates a high error rate when replicating undamaged DNA, often misincorporating guanine instead of adenosine at thymine templates. Such error-prone characteristics can lead to mutations, making DNA pol ι a key factor in cancer-associated mutagenesis. DNA pol ι works alongside DNA polymerase ζ to facilitate DNA lesion bypass, highlighting a crucial role in cellular DNA damage response.
