    SEE ALSO...

DHS Antibody (F-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects deoxyhypusine synthase (DHS) in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). DHS plays a pivotal role in the post-translational modification of eukaryotic initiation factor 5A (eIF-5A) by facilitating the formation of hypusine, a unique modification that is critical for eIF-5A′s function in promoting cell proliferation and survival. The importance of hypusine lies in its influence on the stability and activity of eIF-5A, which is essential for various cellular processes, including translation and cell cycle progression. By catalyzing the NAD-dependent oxidative cleavage of spermidine, DHS initiates the hypusine biosynthesis pathway, ultimately leading to the modification of eIF-5A that is necessary for biological activity. Anti-DHS antibody (F-10) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying the mechanisms of cell growth and the role of hypusine in cellular functions, providing insights into potential therapeutic targets for diseases characterized by dysregulated cell proliferation.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with DHS (F-10): sc-271871 monoclonal antibody?

    Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
