DGS8 Antibody (H-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects DGS8 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). DGS8, also known as DiGeorge syndrome critical region 8 protein, is crucial in the etiology of velocardiofacial/DiGeorge syndrome (VCFS/DGS), a condition characterized by developmental anomalies including structural and functional palate defects, conotruncal cardiac malformations, immunodeficiency, and hypocalcemia. DGS8 is encoded by the DGCR8 gene, which is often deleted in individuals with DiGeorge syndrome, leading to a significant role in the disorder. DGS8 is primarily localized in the nucleus, where DGS8 is involved in the biogenesis of microRNAs, essential for regulating gene expression and cellular processes. This nuclear localization underscores DGS8′s function in post-transcriptional regulation, influencing various developmental pathways and cellular responses. Anti-DGS8 antibody (H-6) provides a reliable tool for researchers studying DGS8′s implications in developmental disorders and potential interactions with other proteins involved in microRNA processing, contributing to a deeper understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying DiGeorge syndrome.
