DGK-κ Antibody (4G12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects DGK-kappa protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-DGK-kappa antibody (4G12) is available as the non-conjugated format. Diacylglycerol kinase kappa (DGK-κ), also known as DGKK, is a crucial enzyme in cellular signaling, primarily responsible for regulating diacylglycerol (DAG) and phosphatidic acid (PA) levels, two important lipid signaling molecules. By phosphorylating DAG to generate PA, DGK-κ plays a vital role in modulating various signaling pathways that influence cell growth, differentiation, and survival. DGK-κ is composed of 1,271 amino acids and belongs to the eukaryotic diacylglycerol kinase family, featuring a DAGKc domain, a pleckstrin homology (PH) domain, and two phorbol-ester/DAG-type zinc fingers, which are essential for enzymatic activity and membrane association. DGK-κ is expressed predominantly in the testis, with lower expression levels found in the placenta, highlighting a potential role in reproductive biology. DGK-κ activity is inhibited by oxidative stress, such as exposure to hydrogen peroxide, which underscores an importance in cellular responses to environmental changes.
