Desmuslin Antibody (B-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Desmuslin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Desmuslin (B-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Desmuslin is classified as a type-VI intermediate filament protein, which plays a crucial role in providing mechanical support to muscle fibers by linking the extracellular matrix to the dystrophin-associated protein complex at the Z-disk. This structural function is vital for maintaining muscle integrity and facilitating proper muscle contraction. Desmuslin is predominantly expressed in heart and skeletal muscle tissues, but can also be found in the brain, highlighting its importance in both muscle function and potential roles in neurological contexts. Desmuslin interacts with other key proteins, such as desmin and α-dystrobrevin, which are essential for the stability and functionality of muscle fiber architecture.
