DERP6 Antibody (E-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects DERP6 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). DERP6 (E-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. DERP6, also known as dermal papilla-derived protein 6 or C17orf81, is a 316 amino acid protein primarily localized in the cytoplasm and exists as multiple alternatively spliced isoforms. DERP6 is expressed ubiquitously, with highest levels found in liver, heart, testis, brain, and skeletal muscle, indicating potential roles in various physiological processes. DERP6 is thought to be involved in p53-mediated transcriptional regulation, crucial for maintaining cellular genetic integrity. p53 protein, a key tumor suppressor, plays a vital role in determining cell fate by regulating DNA repair mechanisms and apoptosis. Dysfunction or loss of p53 expression is linked to malignant cell growth and conditions such as Li-Fraumeni syndrome, highlighting DERP6′s importance in cancer biology. DERP6 gene is located on human chromosome 17, a region harboring over 1,200 genes, including other significant tumor suppressors like BRCA1, associated with breast and ovarian cancers. DERP6′s intricate relationship with these critical pathways underscores its relevance in both normal cellular function and disease states.
