DCTD Antibody (F-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects DCTD protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). DCTD (F-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. DCTD, or Deoxycytidylate deaminase, is a crucial allosteric enzyme composed of 178 amino acids that functions as a homohexamer, belonging to the cytidine and deoxycytidylate deaminase protein family. This enzyme plays a vital role in nucleotide metabolism by catalyzing the conversion of deoxycytidine monophosphate (dCMP) to deoxyuridine monophosphate (dUMP), a key substrate for thymidylate synthase (TS). TS subsequently utilizes dUMP along with 5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate to synthesize deoxythymidine monophosphate (dTMP), which is essential for DNA biosynthesis. The regulation of DCTD activity is influenced by the concentrations of end products, deoxycytidine triphosphate (dCTP) and deoxythymidine triphosphate (dTTP), highlighting DCTD′s importance in maintaining nucleotide balance within the cell. Alternative splicing events lead to the expression of multiple DCTD isoforms, further underscoring the complexity and regulatory mechanisms governing DCTD function in cellular processes.
