    SEE ALSO...

Dbs Antibody (C-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Dbs protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Dbs (C-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Dbs protein, also known as Ost or MCF2L, plays a crucial role as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for Rho guanosine triphosphatases, specifically RhoA and Cdc42, which are vital for regulating cellular processes such as growth and differentiation. The unique structure of Dbs includes a tandem domain arrangement, featuring a Dbl homology (DH) catalytic domain followed by a pleckstrin homology (PH) regulatory domain, which is essential for its function. Notably, Dbs requires the presence of the PH domain to activate the DH domain′s intrinsic catalytic activity, distinguishing Dbs from other members of the Dbl family. Expression of Dbs is notably high in the brain and low in the thymus and spleen, indicating a significant role in neural signaling pathways. Furthermore, Dbs is involved in multiple signaling cascades, including the activation of transcription factors such as Elk-1, Jun, and NFkB, and stimulates transcription from the cyclin D1 promoter, highlighting importance in cell cycle regulation and potential implications in cancer biology.

What blocking solution should I use with Dbs (C-7): sc-376400 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

    Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
