SEE ALSO...

Dbf4 Antibody (6G9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Dbf4 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Dbf4 antibody (6G9) is available as the non-conjugated format. Dbf4 (6G9) antibody recognizes a protein that plays a crucial role in regulating DNA replication, specifically in forming and activating the Dbf4/Cdc7 kinase complex, which is essential for initiating DNA replication during the S phase of the cell cycle. This complex phosphorylates key proteins necessary for DNA replication initiation, including several minichromosome maintenance proteins and the p180 subunit of DNA polymerase alpha-primase. Dbf4 expression remains tightly regulated throughout the cell cycle, staying absent during G1 phase but accumulating during S and G2 phases, ensuring DNA replication occurs at appropriate times. Timely degradation of Dbf4 by the anaphase-promoting complex during chromosome segregation prevents premature reactivation of prereplicative complexes, maintaining genomic stability. Dbf4 monoclonal antibody (6G9) effectively detects this important regulatory protein, making this reagent valuable for studying cell cycle dynamics and DNA replication mechanisms.

Can sc-293398: Dbf4 (6G9) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-293398: Dbf4 (6G9) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
