DAP-3 Antibody (10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects DAP-3 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). DAP-3 is a nucleotide-binding protein characterized by a potential P-loop motif, playing a crucial role as a positive mediator of programmed cell death. DAP-3 is required in full-length form to induce apoptosis, acting downstream of receptor signaling complexes where death-promoting effects are contingent upon caspase activity. Notably, anti-DAP-3 antibody (10) recognizes the protein′s amino-terminal region, which interacts with the glucocorticoid receptor (GR) and exerts a dominant-negative effect that protects cells from undergoing apoptosis. This interaction highlights DAP-3′s importance in cellular survival mechanisms, particularly in stress responses. DAP-3 is conserved both functionally and structurally, and DAP-3 is ubiquitously expressed in highly proliferative epithelial compartments across various tissues. A distinctive feature of DAP-3 is maintaining mitochondrial localization even during apoptosis induction, setting DAP-3 apart from many other apoptotic regulators.
