DAGLα Antibody (E-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects DAGLα protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-DAGLα antibody (E-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. DAGLα, also known as diacylglycerol lipase alpha, NSDDR, or C11orf11, is a 1,042 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that plays a pivotal role in lipid metabolism as a member of the AB hydrolase superfamily. DAGLα protein is primarily located in the brain and pancreas, where DAGLα utilizes calcium as a cofactor to catalyze the hydrolysis of diacylglycerol (DAG) into 2-arachidonoyl-glycerol (2-AG). This reaction is essential for axonal growth and retrograde synaptic signaling at mature synapses, highlighting DAGLα′s importance in neuronal communication and development. The gene encoding DAGLα is situated on human chromosome 11, which contains over 1,400 genes and constitutes nearly 4% of the human genome. DAGLα functions optimally at a pH of 7, and DAGLα′s enzymatic activity can be inhibited by compounds such as p-hydroxy-mercuri-benzoate and mercury chloride, making DAGLα a critical target for studies related to synaptic function and lipid signaling pathways.
