SEE ALSO...

Cytokeratin 19 Antibody (RCK108) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Cytokeratin 19 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-Cytokeratin 19 antibody (RCK108) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Cytokeratin 19 is a vital component of the cytoskeletal structure in epithelial cells, playing a crucial role in maintaining cellular integrity and providing mechanical support. Expression of Cytokeratin 19 is particularly significant in epithelial differentiation and tissue specialization, making Cytokeratin 19 an important marker for various pathological conditions. Cytokeratin 19 is associated with several types of cancer, including lung cancer and hepatoma, where Cytokeratin 19 fragments can serve as valuable biomarkers for diagnosis and prognosis. CYFRA 21-1, a Cytokeratin 19 fragment found in serum, has been identified as a promising tumor marker, highlighting Cytokeratin 19′s relevance in clinical oncology. Cytokeratin 19 (RCK108) monoclonal antibody enables researchers to effectively study Cytokeratin 19 expression and function in both normal and diseased tissues, contributing to a better understanding of epithelial cell biology and cancer pathology.

Can Cytokeratin 19 (RCK108): sc-53003 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, Cytokeratin 19 (RCK108): sc-53003 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
