SEE ALSO...

Cytoglobin Antibody (D-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects cytoglobin protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-cytoglobin antibody (D-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Cytoglobin, also known as histoglobin, plays a crucial role in oxygen transport and storage, functioning as a vital component in the diffusion of oxygen through tissues. Cytoglobin acts as a scavenger for nitric oxide and other reactive oxygen species, thereby protecting cells from oxidative stress. Cytoglobin is a hexacoordinate hemoglobin that binds oxygen via its heme group and is widely expressed across various tissues, including fibroblasts and nerve cells, which underscores cytoglobin′s significance in maintaining cellular oxygen homeostasis. With less than 30% identity to other human hemoglobins, cytoglobin′s unique structure allows specialized functions in different cellular environments, making cytoglobin an essential protein for research in areas related to oxygen metabolism and cellular response to stress.
