CYP2B1/2B2 Antibody (9.20) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects CYP2B1/2B2 in mouse and rat samples through western blotting (WB). CYP2B1 and CYP2B2 are crucial members of the cytochrome P450 (CYP2) superfamily, which plays a significant role in the metabolism of various endogenous and exogenous compounds, including therapeutic agents and fatty acids. These enzymes are primarily located in the liver, where they facilitate the oxidation of substances, thereby influencing drug metabolism and detoxification processes. The importance of their cellular location cannot be overstated, as the liver is the central organ for drug metabolism, and the activity of CYP2B1 and CYP2B2 can significantly affect the pharmacokinetics of drugs, including their efficacy and toxicity. Additionally, CYP2B1 is known to convert ifosfamide into its active cytotoxic metabolites, while CYP2B2 is involved in the induction of phenobarbital, highlighting their roles in both therapeutic and adverse drug reactions. Anti-CYP2B1/2B2 antibody (9.20) is an essential tool for researchers studying drug metabolism and the biochemical pathways involving these critical enzymes.
