CYP24 Antibody (E-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CYP24 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CYP24 (E-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CYP24 protein, also known as vitamin D 24-hydroxylase, plays a crucial role in vitamin D metabolism by catalyzing its degradation, which is essential for maintaining calcium homeostasis and bone health. Dysregulation of CYP24 can lead to altered vitamin D levels, potentially resulting in conditions such as osteoporosis or rickets. Additionally, CYP24 is involved in the inactivation of 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3, the active form of vitamin D, thereby regulating its biological effects in various tissues. Expression of CYP24 is tightly controlled and can be influenced by factors such as calcium levels and parathyroid hormone, highlighting its importance in the endocrine regulation of calcium and phosphate metabolism. Understanding CYP24 function is vital for elucidating its role in vitamin D metabolism and implications in various diseases.
