    SEE ALSO...

CyP Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects CyP in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CyP (E-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs. Cyclophilins, including CyPA and CyPB, play critical roles in cellular processes, with CyPA being particularly important for T cell differentiation and proliferation, which are essential for adaptive immunity. CyPA is primarily located in the cytosol, where CyPA functions as a peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase, facilitating proper protein folding by accelerating the isomerization of proline-containing peptides. This function is vital for maintaining protein homeostasis and ensuring proteins achieve correct three-dimensional structures, which is crucial for biological activity. Additionally, CyPA interacts with the capsid domain of HIV-1 Gag polyprotein, highlighting CyPA′s significance in viral replication and pathogenesis. Anti-CyP antibody (E-8) detection capabilities make this reagent an invaluable tool for researchers studying immune responses and viral infections.

Can CyP (E-8): sc-390193 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. Yes, CyP (E-8): sc-390193 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
