SEE ALSO...

CYFIP2 Antibody (6-YD16) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects CYFIP2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CYFIP2 antibody (6-YD16) is available as a non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. CYFIP2, also known as Cytoplasmic FMR1-interacting protein 2, is a 1,278 amino acid protein encoded by the human gene CYFIP2 and plays a crucial role in T-cell adhesion and p53-dependent induction of apoptosis. CYFIP2 is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where CYFIP2 interacts with several key proteins, including FMR1, FXR1, and FXR2, and is a vital component of the WAVE1 complex, which is essential for actin polymerization and cellular motility. CYFIP2 interaction with activated Rac1 leads to the dissociation of the WAVE1 complex, thereby releasing activated WASF1, which is critical for the regulation of cytoskeletal dynamics. Additionally, CYFIP2 promoter contains a p53-responsive element that facilitates p53 binding and transcriptional activation, highlighting CYFIP2′s importance in cellular stress responses. Induced expression of CYFIP2 is sufficient to trigger caspase activation and cellular apoptosis, mimicking the effects of p53 activation, making CYFIP2 a significant player in the pathways that govern cell survival and death.
