SEE ALSO...

Cyclophilin G Antibody (8S5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Cyclophilin G protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Cyclophilin G antibody (8S5) is available as a non-conjugated format. Cyclophilin G, also known as CARS-Cyp (Clk-associating RS-cyclophilin), SRcyp (SR-cyclophilin), CASP10, PPIase G, or Rotamase G, is a crucial member of the Moca family of cyclophilins, which are highly conserved and abundant cytosolic peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerases. These proteins play a vital role in accelerating the isomerization of XaaPro peptide bonds, thereby facilitating proper protein folding, essential for maintaining cellular function and homeostasis. Cyclophilin G is predominantly localized in the nucleus and, during interphase, is found in nuclear speckles, where Cyclophilin G is involved in pre-mRNA splicing regulation. Cyclophilin G features an N-terminal cyclophilin-type domain, an acidic serine-rich region, and five Cdc2-type phosphorylation sites, along with serine-arginine repeats at the C-terminus. Notably, Cyclophilin G undergoes phosphorylation during mitosis by the Cdc2-cyclin B complex, indicating activity regulation throughout the cell cycle. Additionally, Cyclophilin G interacts with Pinin and the C-terminus of the largest subunit of RNA polymerase II (Pol II), suggesting involvement in dynamic regulation of gene expression and splicing processes.

Can sc-100699: Cyclophilin G (8S5) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-100699: Cyclophilin G (8S5) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
