SEE ALSO...

Cyclin T2a/b Antibody (2128C1a) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects cyclin T2a/b protein of human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-cyclin T2a/b antibody (2128C1a) is available as a non-conjugated format. Cyclin T2 plays a crucial role in regulating transcription elongation by RNA polymerase II, functioning as a key component of positive transcription elongation factor b (P-TEFb) complex, which is essential for RNA polymerase II transition from transcription initiation to elongation. This transition enables proper gene expression by allowing full-length mRNA transcript synthesis. Cyclin T2 exists in two isoforms, T2a and T2b, generated through alternative splicing, and while both isoforms bind to cyclin-dependent kinase 9 (Cdk9), each exhibits distinct regulatory roles in transcriptional control. Notably, cyclin T2 does not interact with HIV-1 Tat protein, which enhances transcriptional activity by recruiting P-TEFb complex to viral RNA, highlighting specific functional dynamics of cyclin T2 in transcription regulation. Cyclin T2a/b′s unique properties make cyclin T2a/b an important target for studies focused on transcriptional regulation and implications in various diseases, including viral infections and cancer.

I am using cyclin T2a/b (2128C1a): sc-81243 antibody for immunoprecipitation, how much antibody should I use?

Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your question. We recommend using 1–10 µl (i.e., 0.2–2 µg) of antibody with 1 ml of cell lysate. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunoprecipitation protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoprecipitation-western-blots
