Cyclin T1 Antibody (C-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects cyclin T1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-cyclin T1 antibody (C-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Cyclin T1 plays a crucial role in regulating transcription elongation by forming a complex with cyclin-dependent kinase 9 (Cdk9), which is essential for phosphorylating the C-terminal domain of RNA polymerase II. This phosphorylation enables RNA polymerase II to transition from transcription initiation to elongation, facilitating mRNA production. Cyclin T1 also interacts with HIV-1 Tat protein, enhancing its binding affinity to the viral TAR RNA structure, which is critical for recruiting the cyclin T1/Cdk9 complex to RNA polymerase II. The specificity of cyclin T1 in this interaction highlights its importance in both cellular transcription processes and viral pathogenesis, making cyclin T1 a significant target for research in gene expression and HIV biology.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with cyclin T1 (C-6): sc-271575 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
