SEE ALSO...

Cyclin G1 Antibody (F-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects cyclin G1 of human origin through applications such as western blotting, immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Cyclin G1 (F-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase, phycoerythrin, fluorescein isothiocyanate, and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Cyclin G1 plays a crucial role in cell cycle regulation, particularly in the transition from G1 phase to S phase, where cyclin G1 is involved in the control of cell proliferation. Cyclin G1 is essential for proper cell cycle progression, helping to ensure cells only replicate DNA when ready, thereby preventing uncontrolled cell division that can lead to cancer. Cyclin G1 is characterized by a typical N-terminal cyclin box and a C-terminal domain homologous to the tyrosine phosphorylation site of the epidermal growth factor receptor. Cyclin G1 expression is induced within three hours following growth stimulation and remains elevated without clear dependency on the cell cycle, distinguishing cyclin G1 from other cyclins that exhibit more regulated expression patterns. Cyclin G2, which shares 53% amino acid sequence identity with cyclin G1, peaks in expression during late S phase, further highlighting unique regulatory roles these proteins play in cell cycle dynamics.

I am using cyclin G1 (F-5): sc-8016 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: jerojero
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
