CUG-BP2 Antibody (1H2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CUG-BP2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-CUG-BP2 antibody (1H2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CUG-BP2 plays a crucial role in RNA metabolism regulation, particularly in myotonic dystrophy, a neuromuscular disorder characterized by a (CTG)n repeat expansion in the 3′-untranslated region of the myotonin protein kinase gene (DMPK). CUG-BP2 is primarily located in the nucleus, where CUG-BP2 binds to (CUG)8 oligonucleotides, and nuclear localization is essential for modulating the splicing and translation of target RNAs. In normal cells, CUG-BP2′s activity remains tightly regulated, but in myotonic dystrophy cells, binding activity increases significantly, leading to dysregulation of gene expression. CUG-BP2′s interaction with other RNA-binding proteins, such as CUG-BP1, further highlights CUG-BP2′s importance in the cellular response to RNA repeat expansions, making CUG-BP2 a critical target for understanding molecular mechanisms underlying myotonic dystrophy and potentially other related disorders.
