SEE ALSO...

CstF-64 Antibody (H-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects CstF-64 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CstF-64 antibody (H-1) is available as the non-conjugated form. CstF-64 plays a crucial role in polyadenylation of mRNA precursors, a vital process for gene expression regulation. CstF-64 functions as part of the cleavage stimulation factor (CstF) complex, essential for endonucleolytic cleavage of polyadenylation substrates. An RNA binding domain in CstF-64 facilitates RNA interaction, influencing mRNA stability and translation. CstF-64 expression occurs in all somatic cells and increases during B cell activation to switch IgM heavy chain mRNA expression from membrane-bound to secreted forms. This switch enables B cells to produce antibodies for bloodstream secretion. A larger variant, t CstF-64, expresses in meiotic and postmeiotic cells, demonstrating diverse roles in different cellular contexts. CSTF2, the gene encoding CstF-64, resides on the X chromosome, while an autosomal gene encodes t CstF-64, showing complex regulation and function across various tissues.
