CstF-50 Antibody (A-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CstF-50 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CstF-50 antibody (A-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CstF-50 plays a crucial role in the polyadenylation of mRNA precursors, a vital process for gene expression regulation and mRNA stability. CstF-50 functions as a component of the cleavage stimulation factor (CstF) complex, which is essential for the endonucleolytic cleavage of polyadenylation substrates. CstF-50 recognizes GU- and U-rich sequences located downstream of the polyadenylation site on RNA, facilitating the assembly of a stable complex with other polyadenylation and 3′-end cleavage factors. The structural integrity of CstF-50, which includes a transducin repeat domain, is important for interaction with the nuclear protein BARD1, as well as for function in inhibiting polyadenylation in vitro. Understanding CstF-50′s role in mRNA processing provides insights into the regulatory mechanisms of gene expression and potential implications in various diseases, including cancer.
