CRMP Antibody (D-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CRMP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CRMP Antibody (D-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Collapsin response mediator proteins (CRMPs), which include CRMP-1 through CRMP-5, play a crucial role in neuronal signaling, particularly in response to the axon guidance molecule Semaphorin 3A (SEMA3A). CRMPs are predominantly located in the developing cerebral cortex and neocortical neurons, where CRMPs facilitate axonal growth and guidance, making CRMPs essential for proper neural development and plasticity. CRMP-2, one of the most studied members of this family, is implicated in the regulation of neuronal morphology and has been linked to various neuropsychiatric disorders, including schizophrenia, due to CRMP-2′s gene location in the chromosomal region 8p22-p21, which has shown significant associations with the disease. CRMPs expression is notably downregulated in the adult brain, yet CRMPs persist in regions that maintain the ability for differentiation and plasticity, underscoring CRMPs importance in both development and potential recovery processes in the nervous system.
