CRMP-2 Antibody (1B1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects CRMP-2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-CRMP-2 antibody (1B1) is available as the non-conjugated format. The collapsin response mediator protein 2 (CRMP-2) plays a crucial role in neuronal development and function, particularly in axonal growth and guidance, which are essential for proper neural network formation and repair. CRMP-2 is primarily located in the cytoplasm and translocates to the growth cone during axonal development, where CRMP-2 interacts with various signaling pathways that regulate cytoskeletal dynamics. Proper localization and function of CRMP-2 are vital for neuronal plasticity and response to external cues, such as the axon guidance molecule Semaphorin 3A, which influences neuronal pathfinding. The human CRMP-2 gene is located on chromosome 8p21.2, a region associated with schizophrenia, highlighting CRMP-2′s importance in both normal brain function and neuropsychiatric disorders.
