COTL1 Antibody (AT1D6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects COTL1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), flow cytometry (FCM), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-COTL1 antibody (AT1D6) is available as a non-conjugated format. COTL1, also known as coactosin-like 1 or CLP, is a 142 amino acid cytoplasmic and cytoskeletal protein that belongs to the actin-binding proteins ADF family and coactosin subfamily. COTL1 is widely expressed, with highest levels found in the kidney, placenta, lung, and peripheral blood leukocytes, while lower levels are present in the pancreas, liver, and brain. COTL1 plays a crucial role in the regulation of the actin cytoskeleton through a calcium-dependent mechanism, although COTL1 has not been shown to directly affect actin depolymerization. Notably, COTL1 contains one ADF-H domain and interacts with 5-lipoxygenase (5-LO), an enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of leukotrienes, which are important mediators in inflammatory responses and are expressed in various types of leukocytes. The gene encoding COTL1 is located on human chromosome 16q24.1, highlighting its significance in cellular processes and potential implications in immune responses.
