SEE ALSO...

Cortactin Antibody (30) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody developed to detect Cortactin, also known as Ems-1 or CTTN, a pivotal protein involved in the regulation of the actin cytoskeleton. Anti-Cortactin antibody (30) exhibits broad species reactivity, effectively recognizing Cortactin from human, avian, and canine origins across various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). Cortactin plays a critical role in cellular processes such as actin polymerization, cell motility, and the formation of cellular structures like lamellipodia and invadopodia, making Cortactin essential for studies on cell migration and invasion. Structurally, Cortactin contains tandem 37 amino acid repeats at its N-terminus and an SH3 domain at the C-terminus, which are crucial for interaction with filamentous actin (F-actin) and various signaling molecules. Post-translational modifications, particularly tyrosine phosphorylation by Src family kinases, are vital for regulating Cortactin′s binding affinity to F-actin and ability to cross-link actin filaments, thereby modulating cytoskeletal dynamics and cellular structural integrity. Additionally, Cortactin is phosphorylated in response to growth factors such as FGF-1, highlighting Cortactin′s role in signal transduction pathways that influence cell behavior and function. These modifications are essential for Cortactin′s involvement in diverse cellular functions, including endocytosis and maintenance of cellular architecture. Cortactin monoclonal antibody (30) provides researchers with a reliable tool for investigating these dynamic processes, ensuring accurate detection and analysis in experimental studies. Available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, Cortactin (30) antibody offers flexibility to meet a wide range of research needs, making this reagent an indispensable resource for scientists exploring cytoskeletal regulation, cell signaling mechanisms, and related biological pathways.

Can sc-136134: Cortactin (30) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-136134: Cortactin (30) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
