SEE ALSO...

COQ9 Antibody (G-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects COQ9 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). COQ9 (G-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Coenzyme Q9, also known as coenzyme Q9 homolog, is a crucial 318 amino acid protein localized in the mitochondrion, where COQ9 plays a vital role in the biosynthesis of coenzyme Q, a key component of the electron transport chain. COQ9 is essential for aerobic cellular respiration, facilitating ATP production, which is critical for energy metabolism in cells. COQ9′s importance extends beyond its metabolic role; mutations in the COQ9 gene can disrupt coenzyme Q synthesis, potentially leading to mitochondrial dysfunction and associated disorders. The COQ9 gene is located on human chromosome 16, a region that harbors over 900 genes and is linked to several genetic disorders, including giant axonal neuropathy and Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome. Understanding COQ9′s function and significance is crucial for exploring therapeutic avenues for mitochondrial diseases and other related conditions.
