CNPase Antibody (H-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CNPase protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CNPase monoclonal antibody (H-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The 2′,3′-cyclic nucleotide-3′-phosphodiesterase (CNPase) protein plays a crucial role in the central nervous system as a membrane-bound enzyme that links tubulin to membranes, thereby regulating the distribution of cytoplasmic microtubules. This function is vital for maintaining the structural integrity and proper functioning of neurons, as microtubules are essential for intracellular transport and the overall architecture of the cell. CNPase acts as a microtubule-associated protein, promoting microtubule assembly, with this activity localized to the C-terminus of the enzyme. CNPase is predominantly found in high concentrations within central nervous system myelin and the outer segments of photoreceptors in the retina, highlighting its importance in both myelination and visual processes. Disturbances in CNPase activity, such as those caused by acute lead intoxication, can lead to significant alterations in myelin morphology, underscoring CNPase′s critical role in neural health and function.
