    SEE ALSO...

CMTM5 Antibody (A-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CMTM5 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CMTM5 antibody (A-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CMTM5, also known as CKLF-like MARVEL transmembrane domain containing 5, is a 223 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that plays a crucial role in cellular processes, particularly in inducing apoptosis in various carcinoma cells through a caspase-dependent pathway. This function positions CMTM5 as a potential tumor suppressor, linking CMTM5 to cancer biology and therapeutic strategies. CMTM5 is predominantly expressed in brain tissue and contains a MARVEL domain, essential for structural integrity and function. Alternative splicing of CMTM5 gene results in five isoforms, with major variant CMTM5-v1 being broadly expressed in human fetal and adult tissues, yet largely absent in many carcinoma cell lines. CMTM5 gene is located on human chromosome 14q11.2, a region associated with various cancers, highlighting CMTM5′s potential relevance in cancer research and treatment.
