CMPK Antibody (H-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CMPK protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CMPK Antibody (H-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CMPK protein, also known as cytidine monophosphate kinase, UMP-CMP kinase, and deoxycytidylate kinase, is a crucial enzyme composed of 196 amino acids that catalyzes the transfer of a phosphate group from ATP to UMP, CMP, and dCMP, resulting in the production of ADP and the corresponding nucleoside diphosphate. This enzymatic activity is vital for cellular nucleic acid synthesis, as CMPK facilitates the activation of nucleoside monophosphate kinases, which are essential for the pharmacological activation of therapeutic nucleosides and nucleotide analogs. Primarily localized in the cytoplasm, CMPK also plays a significant role in the activation of pyrimidine analogs, which are clinically important in the development of anti-cancer and anti-viral drugs. Notably, CMP is the preferred substrate for CMPK, followed by UMP and dCMP, underscoring CMPK′s specificity and importance in nucleotide metabolism.
