SEE ALSO...

CLP36 Antibody (B-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CLP36 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CLP36 (B-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CLP36, also known as PDLIM1, CLIM1, or Elfin, is a 329 amino acid cytoplasmic protein that plays a crucial role in organizing the cytoskeleton by associating with actin stress fibers. CLP36 expression is notably high in skeletal muscle and heart tissues, while lower levels are found in the colon, small intestine, spleen, lung, placenta, kidney, liver, thymus, and pancreas. CLP36 functions as an adaptor protein, facilitating target protein recruitment to the cytoskeleton, thereby influencing cellular structure and signaling. CLP36 interacts with Clik1, a kinase, and recruits Clik1 to α-actinin-1, enhancing Clik1′s association with actin stress fibers. This interaction maintains cytoskeletal network integrity and ensures proper cellular function. CLP36 contains one PDZ domain and one LIM zinc-binding domain, essential for protein-protein binding capabilities. Human CLP36 shares 88% sequence similarity with its rat counterpart, indicating a conserved function across species, which underscores CLP36′s significance in various biological processes.
